Matilda By:Roald Dahl
A Viking Book

Matilda is a genius, She is short, She has brown hair and her parents yell at her for no apparent reason.Plus her brother just ignores her. This is the life of Matilda.

Matilda is obsessed with books. She goes to the library every day when her dad is at work and her mother goes to Bingo with her brother. When ever the librarian looks over at Matilda she is amazed at the kind of books that she is reading. Such as books that are meant for people over the age of 15 and she is only 3 years old! When Matilda starts school she meets this teacher called Miss.Honey who lives by the river bank in this little cottage that is so small she has to duck to get inside.Miss.Honey also has to sleep on the the ground she is that poor! When Miss.Honey and Matilda want to live together they try to stand up to her parents but Matilda and Miss.Honey have to come up with a plan to make both of their lives better.

Some of the lessons messages and themes are you should treat people the way you want to be treated because in the part where Matilda's parents yell and hit Matilda meanwhile Matilda was being very nice to them but they weren't noticing. And If you work together you can make a difference. If you like books that end with happy endings then this is the book for you!
