“Look, I didn’t want to be a half-blood.”

When 12 year old Percy Jackson learns that he is a demigod, he makes new friends, and learns new things among his somewhat surprising new home. Because Percy is at camp half-blood, he finally fits in with the rest of the demigod campers.

Readers will feel like they’re going on a quest, going along for the ride as Percy strives to learn new things, and make new friends at camp with his two best friends, Annabeth chase, a very clever and smart demigod, and Grover Underwood, a very brave satyr at his side.

Throughout the series Percy explores the cruel and dangerous world, and learns how to be a very powerful demigod. This action-packed and awesome series hosts an unforgettable cast of characters, including Percy Jackson, a very powerful son of Poseidon, who always steps into the fight and starts fighting, Annabeth chase, the most clever of the Athena cabin, Grover Underwood, the bravest of the satyrs, Tyson, the Cyclops who always starts fighting with his stick, Thalia grace, the unforgettable fighting machine, and many more on the way!

The text is adventurous and exciting; the series has friendship, and very brave loyalty. The author, Rick Riordan, does an excellent job capturing the “voice” of Percy, who is an adventurous demigod.

Percy brings his own awesome and dramatic voice to a series that is both humorous, and fantastical. Both children and adults will be glued to this terrific series the way it celebrates friendship, loss, love, betrayal, and beauty. Percy’s humorous charm and dead-on flaw will earn his friends and fans far beyond the confines of long island sound, New York. recommend this series 8 and up.
