Leif is brave, so brave that his parents sent him on the journey of restoring the belt. Every day of his journey he meets new people like Barda and Jazmine. Leif always thinks about his parents worrying about him back in Del. Whenever they get a gem he says, "We're one step closer." When they get to their first stop, Leif overcomes his fear and battles becoming bigger, better, and stronger and decides the best gift he could give his parents is to restore the belt.

This adventure book shows friendship and hard work because they worked hard together. At the same time the message and important parts make you feel like you could do anything and sometimes you can get worried at parts of the story. An issue, idea, or concept in the story is friendship and bravery because they helped each other restore the belt.

Emily Rodda wrote a great series about an amazing adventure. The characters Leif, Barda, and Jazmine can surprise you at times in the story.

When Leif, Jazmine, and Barda get each gem, every time they do, Leif always says, "We're getting closer to going back to Del." When they complete the belt, Leif, Jazmine, and Barda get so excited when Lef says, "We can do this." It shows he's not giving up.

I recommend this book to 9 and up because that's how old I was when I read the series.

Emily Rodda also wrote The Key to Rondo, Deltora Shadowlands, and Dragons of Deltora.

Along with the action in this fantasy story there's also freindship and cooperation. READ DELTORA QUEST! It's a great series!
