All Nikki wants is to fit in at her new school. But with her embarrassing family it's hard. With the new mean girl around, Nikki's just a dork. On the first day of school she falls going to a table during lunch. Her crush  Brandon takes a picture and she ends up on the cover of the newspaper! But when she meets new friends she's happy to be a dork.

This great book contains powerful lessons about being yourself. At the same time there are pictures that show you what's going on. Dork is the big word here. Some children know what the word "dork" means. Like Nikki. But Nikki doesn't care if she's a dork or not. Nikki makes being a dork fun. Especially with Mackenzie around because Nikki can't buy designer clothes and Mackenzie can. At a time when designer clothes are very in, and you don't have any, Dork Diaries comes out a winner because Nikki can't get designer clothes and she wants to fit in. This relates with all kids who are new at school or who want to fit in. Everyone who has read this book has been amazed at how it relates with the real world.

A golden line in my book is "I'm such a dork." Nikki is often heard saying this in the end or the middle of the book. Another golden line is "Meet me in the janitor's closet" or "Meet us in the janitor's closet." It's often heard throughout the book.

Fitting in is the big thing in my book because Nikki tries to fit in. But with the new mean girl and Nikki's embarrassing family it's hard. In one of the books Nikki compares her family with clowns. In all the books Mackenzie makes fun of her and calls her bug girl because her dad is a bug exterminator.

If you like Dork Diaries #1 you'll love the series.

If you like Diary of a Wimpy Kid, you'll love Dork Diaries. Boys love it too.

I recommend this book for 3rd grade and up and 8 and older. This book is a good book. It's also fiction!
