"We could raise a little pippling," said Wiglaf. "You've lost your mind!" said Angus.
This clever book contains a powerful lesson about friendship and how to take are of a friend who can't take care of himself. This book contains a lot of illustrations that can show how the character is feeling on the inside and out. All Wiglaf and Angus want is to save their baby dragon from anyone seeing him. But inspectors come to see if the school is able to stay open. At first Wiglaf and Angus try to keep him in the hen house with daisy watching over him all the time. But then he gets too big for the hen house and moves into where no one goes. Will they be able to keep their secret safe? Little did Wiglaf and Angus know that keeping a secret is really, really hard.
This book is fantasy fiction.
I would recommend this book to ages 8-11. I like it because it's funny and it takes you on an adventure. One of the issues that Wiglaf and Angus have is trying to keep him away from other students and teachers. Another is finding him a home to live in. Finally, they need him to stay quiet so that nobody will hear him. I really like this book because Wiglaf, Angus, and Erica always deflect the danger by working together and this book makes you think you're actually in that time. Kate McMullan made 20 books of Dragon Slayers' Academy.
