"Share the ball Pedro!"

With these words, Pedro pledges sharing the ball with Ned and won the game for them at the Vernon gym. When Pedro says, "Win the game!" so the readers feel convinced that Pedro will pass the ball to Ned.

In Long Shot, Mike Lupica lead us to understand sharing is key. When Ned asked Pedro to pass the ball, Pedro agrees to do it. Little did Pedro know it came out to be big.

Along with the action in this realistic fiction story is a good quality of excitement as you cheer on the underdog.

Long Shot shows how readers feel about sharing and about the book. Long Shot comes out a winner for telling a suspenseful story which readers across groups can relate. 6th grader Pedro Morales is often described as a kind person by kids and a show-off. Pass, Pass and Pedro did what people told him to. This effortless book contains a powerful lesson on sharing. As the team returns to the gym then they start to play (you'll like the ending a lot!). Little did Pedro realize that those games mean a lot to a deeper understanding of sharing.
